Bio
My personal passions include creative and copy writing, raising poultry, and gardening. My professional passion is leading students through an adventurous discovery of their own thoughts and feelings in response to powerful texts, old and new. In that position of leadership, I've had the unmatched joy of watching young and young adult listeners, speakers, readers, and writers rediscover their curiosity, their sense of humor, their voice, their passion, and their power.
Teacher Specialization
Having taught or tutored both neurotypical and neurodiverse students in grades 2-12, both in-person and virtually, I command a broad array of learning strategies. My specialties include 2-12 ELA/English, AP English Lit & Comp, for which I was a classroom teacher for 5 years, SAT Reading and Writing, and other college readiness preparation as it relates to English Language Arts. Students who work with me can expect to increase their confidence as readers, writers, and critical thinkers.
