Bio
Hello! I am excited to be tutoring with Stride! My husband and I, along with our four children, live in Georgia. I am a passionate mom and teacher and I love helping others find their confidence. I truly find joy in teaching. I believe all children are unique and have something special that they can bring to their education. My role as a tutor will be to assist each child in developing their potential and learning styles. I will present curriculum helps that will incorporate different learning styles, as well as make the content relevant to the students' lives. I aim to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the tutoring sessions. I believe I owe it to the students, and to the parents, to bring consistency, diligence, and warmth to my job. In return, I hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage such traits in each student. My goal is to bring fun (you may even hear a song) and intentional learning to each session. I look forward to meeting you!
Teacher Specialization
I have an Associate's degree in Music, a Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development, and a Master's degree in Special Education. In my 24 years of teaching, I have taught in many different capacities. I have taught first grade, kindergarten, special education, and in a self-contained non-verbal autism classroom, all within a public school. I have also taught 2nd-10th grade in different home-school hybrid schools, as well as home-schooled my own children.
