Bio
My name is Laura Bentley. As an educator, I believe that all students can master content when they feel self-confident and safe in their educational environment. My goal is to establish math competency and confidence through positive interactions with content and each other. I strive to build relationships with students by learning about their interests and finding connections to those interests.
Teacher Specialization
20 + years of experience as a retired public educator/tutor now teaching in private sector. Currently, I teach 8-12th grade math. Previously, I have taught 7-12 grade math and business courses. I have also taught math and business online in both a high school and college setting. My teaching experience also includes 7 years of teaching/training other educators nationwide for AVID. My experience is mostly math and college preparation skills such as time management, organization and study skills. I have a BS in Business Administration (major - accounting; minor - mathematics) and a MEd in Teacher Leadership. My teaching credentials include middle/high school mathematics and business and gifted education.
