Bio
Hi! My name is Leslie. I was born and raised in Texas and have 2 children of my own. I have always loved working with children and since 2018, I began working with students in various educational positions. Based on my experiences, I believe students learn best in small group or individualized settings, where the teacher can better target their needs. I aim to help improve your student's phonics, decoding and fluency skills. I look forward to helping your students achieve their educational goals.
Teacher Specialization
I graduated from the University of North Texas and received my teaching license in 2020. I have taught for 5 years. My first 2 years teaching I taught 1st grade reading in spanish and english & for the last 3 years, I've taught second grade small group reading. My 1st year of teaching was in 2020, so reverting back to teaching online brings me a lot of nostalgia! I taught both all remote as well as hybrid. I specialize in helping young students learn how to read. I am bilingual certified and have taught reading in both languages. I have focused primarily on teaching phonics and decoding skills and helping students build their fluency and comprehension skills. I received an "Advanced High Performing Teacher" award for the 2024-2025 school year.
