My name is Lisa B. I live in sunny Florida. I have been teaching for 40 years. I enjoy learning about my students' hobbies and bringing ideas into the classroom to make learning fun and exciting!! Students learn at different paces and levels. Scaffolding subjects so students can understand and learn strategies and subject goals is very important. Listening to students will provide the information needed provide a fun successful lesson. Goals of tutoring is keeping the student focus and motivated. Lessons will be tailored to each individual student needs by having conversations and letting students help plan the goals of the lesson. Having a conversation with my students and letting each student set their own goals will build a positive relation between the student and teacher. My goal is to offer a supportive environment that students participate in planning and enjoy learning through a team building atmosphere.
Teacher Specialization
I have been in the education field and a classroom teacher for 38 years. I have a B.S in Education certified in Prekindergarten/Primary Education, Professional English for Speakers of other Languages and a Reading Endorsement/Science of Reading. My classroom experiences are kindergarten and first grades. I have tutored in the classroom setting and virtually grades K-6. I taught a full year of first grade virtually during the 2021 school.
