Bio
Hello from sunny Florida! I am a wife, mom of a 12-year-old son, mom of two pups, and an educator. Being a Stride tutor allows me to work with children, while also supporting my son and all of his endeavors. Education and working with children are my passions. It's what I know, love, and do best! In addition to education, I also enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, crafting, and collecting seashells on the beach! My initial goal when tutoring is to get to know each child well through assessments, interest inventories, and conversations. Once I have this information, I can plan engaging instruction that incorporates student interests. Implementation of continuous progress monitoring will allow students to track progress, receive feedback, and achieve academic excellence. I have an outgoing, friendly personality and strive to build positive relationships with my students and their families. I look forward to being your tutor!
Teacher Specialization
I have been an educator for 27 years. While living in Pennsylvania, I was a classroom teacher, reading specialist, math interventionist and consultant. When our family moved to Florida five years ago, I became an instructional coach. My experience is working with students in grades PreK-Grade 8. I have my Bachelor's and Master's degrees and certifications in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Reading K-12, Curriculum & Instruction Supervision, and Educational Leadership.
