Bio
Hello! I’m Lisa, an elementary educator who is passionate about helping children feel successful and confident as learners. I specialize in supporting students who need extra patience, structure, and encouragement, including those with learning differences or attention challenges. My approach is warm, supportive, and individualized. I take time to understand each child’s strengths and tailor instruction to build skills, confidence, and independence. I provide support in reading, writing, math foundations, and study skills, while reinforcing strategies that help students succeed in school. I look forward to partnering with families to help children grow and believe in their abilities!
Teacher Specialization
I bring over 30 years of experience in elementary education, with a Master’s degree in Special Education and certifications in Elementary and Special Education. I also have one year of experience teaching in a virtual environment, providing engaging, individualized online instruction and support. I specialize in working with students who benefit from additional guidance, including those with learning differences or attention challenges. My focus areas include early literacy (phonics, fluency, comprehension), writing development, foundational math skills, and building organization and study habits. I have extensive experience implementing accommodations, breaking learning into manageable steps, and using structured, encouraging approaches that build confidence and independence. I have supported students across all elementary content areas, including reading, writing, math, social studies, social-emotional development, and executive functioning.
