Bio
My name is Lisa Faulkner, and I am excited to be your math tutor! I believe in helping students to build their confidence in math so that they are not afraid to take risks in their math education. We will work together in our tutoring sessions to find strategies that work best for you to make your learning personal, as well as develop study skills that you can apply to other classes beyond math. Outside of the classroom, I love to read books and watch movies with my family! At home, I am married with 4 kids, 2 cats and 4 chickens. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a more confident math student!
Teacher Specialization
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught at a few various places. I was at a brick-and-mortar high school for 5 years after graduating from Taylor University. Then, I homeschooled my 4 kids for 9 years, teaching them many different subjects. Next, I taught at a virtual school for 6 years and I have been the math lead at that same school for 4 years. During my time teaching at the virtual school, I won a national award for Teacher of the Year for Student Achievement.
