Bio
Mrs. McWilliams graduated from Richfield High School, where she participated in volleyball, softball, track & field, cross country skiing, student government, band, and National Honors Society. She later attended the University of Minnesota and spent several years thinking she would one day be a college professor because she wanted to be in school forever. She earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Sociology, with a focus on Law and Criminology. Eventually, she wanted to stop writing papers and start earning a paycheck, so she became an English teacher! Over the years, she has taught in "brick and mortar" classrooms for grades 6-12 and developed K-6 language arts curriculum. For the past 12 years, she has been an "online teacher" for students across the U.S. She is certified to teach in six states and also homeschools her two children.
Teacher Specialization
I have taught students from kindergarten through 12th grade. I received my degrees from the University of Minnesota in English (B.A.), Sociology (B.A.), and Education (Masters). I have been teaching in an online environment since 2012 with a focus on English/Language Arts. Prior to teaching online, I taught in a middle school classroom and developed language arts curriculum for grades K-6. I have also homeschooled my own children since kindergarten.
