Bio

My name is Lisa and I am a certified elementary and middle school teacher. I believe that learning should be fun and engaging. I like to incorporate interests into learning as much as possible and have a gentle, yet effective approach. My goal is to help you further your learning in a cooperative and meaningful setting. We will both work hard and will celebrate successes that follow! My favorite way to teach is in small groups or 1-1 settings. Tutoring is a way for me to get to do that! I love animals and have a cat, dog, bearded dragon, and assorted fish. If you have a pet, I would love to hear about it!

Teacher Specialization

I have been working in education since 2010, tutoring English in South Korea, working as a substitute and paraeducator, and as a classroom teacher for the last eight years. I have taught in 1st grade (all areas), 2nd grade (all areas), 4th grade (reading, writing, and language arts), and 5th grade (all areas). I have worked in special education as a long-term substitute. I have a K-6 education license with endorsements in reading and language arts, K-8. I have been trained in the science of reading for young readers (LETRS). I have done some online teaching since 2020 with classroom students.
