Bio

Hello! I am Mrs. Wright, although I'm sometimes wrong (smile). I love to read, watch old movies and try an assortment of crafts from knitting to helping one of my sons make rugs. As I raised my four children, I noticed how each of their learning styles were so different and the importance of teaching to their differences. Understanding that not all students learn in the same way goes a long way to addressing the subjects that give them trouble. Of course, evidence of student learning will come from outcomes of student assessments, but just as important is that students can learn about how they learn best by actively participating in the assessment process itself. Together, our goal will be to promote independence by improving learning strategies catered to each student. My one-on-one time will give students the opportunity to share and be honest about what they are struggling with; adding a little humor here and there so we can build stronger connections.

Teacher Specialization

I have been in education in various roles for almost 20 years, from homeschooling, to charter school, private school and public education. My main focus has been on elementary Math, Reading, Writing and Science for grades 3-5, leading to preparation for state mandated exams. I graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a degree in Business Administration and from LeTourneau University with a Masters in Educational Leadership.
