Bio
Hello! My name is Mrs. Romero, and I’m a caring and dedicated teacher who loves helping students grow in both confidence and understanding. I believe every child has the ability to succeed when given encouragement, patience, and the right tools. My educational philosophy centers on building a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and celebrate their progress. As a tutor, my goal is to meet students where they are and help them move forward one step at a time. I strive to make learning enjoyable and meaningful, while always focusing on the student’s unique strengths and needs. I build relationships with my students by getting to know their interests, listening closely, and cheering them on every step of the way.
Teacher Specialization
I am in my 15th year in education and have taught students from Pre-K through 12th grade in both in-person and virtual settings. I currently serve as a 4th grade teacher with a virtual academy and have also worked as an online ESL teacher, general education teacher, and tutor. Since 2020, I’ve had the privilege of tutoring students from across the country and around the world, including English learners from over 15 different countries. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies, along with endorsements in ESL and Early Literacy. I’ve also completed the National Writing Project, which deepened my passion for helping students grow as readers and writers. My teaching experience spans all core subjects, and I specialize in tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of diverse learners. I love turning academic standards into fun, interactive lessons that keep students engaged and excited to learn.
