Bio
Described as a creative, genuine, and passionate educator, I am Lorenda R. Cheeks, and I believe learning occurs best when educators establish the context for learning, which maximizes learning for all students. When setting the context for learning, I think the educator must consider the students' interests, attitudes, and feelings before planning for instruction and student growth and development. I pride myself in meeting the student's needs through hands-on inquiry-based learning coupled with positive adult role modeling, which is essential to children's growth and development academically. I assert that all students can thrive if given the appropriate guidance to establish and enhance their unique abilities and skills. I consider the ultimate purpose of education to be prepared and to provide students with the necessary tools to flourish confidently in their academic endeavors and beyond the classroom.
