Bio
My name is Marie Leach and my husband and I have four beautiful children ages 5-13. We enjoy swimming, board games, movies and bike riding. I believe students learn best when they are engaged and presented material in a way that makes sense to them. As a long time educator finding ways to meet each individual student where they are at and bring them to a point where they can feel successful and proud of themselves. As a tutor I aim for growth each session. Many skills that students are struggling with take time and repetition to master. Starting with a little growth each time will lead to big progress where the student is making strides that are noticeable. I always prioritize making sure my students feel respected and comfortable with me. Asking them about their day, their interests and even incorporating such topics into our lessons are key ways I do this. I have taught for over 20 years and never tire of the thrill of a student's smile when achieving success.
Teacher Specialization
I have taught in the classroom for 7 years and online for 12+ years. I hold a Masters Degree in Reading Literacy where I thoroughly enjoy using the knowledge I have gained in helping students become better readers. From pre-readers to advanced readers, tailoring my lessons to each student and their needs are part of the success I see my students achieve.
