Bio
Hi, I’m Marwa! I’m a credentialed teacher and tutor with over 10 years of experience working with students. I earned my B.A. in Public Health with a minor in Anthropology from UC Irvine and my Single Subject Teaching Credential in Health Education from CSU Long Beach. I have experience teaching Science and Health, along with tutoring students in English, Math, Science, and Health. I also have experience supporting students with different learning needs, including English learners and students with IEPs. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and student-centered. I like to break concepts down into simple steps and adjust my approach based on how each student learns best. Outside of teaching, I enjoy traveling, volunteering to feed houseless cats, and trying new coffee spots. My goal as an educator is to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions, building their skills, and becoming more independent learners.

My teaching experience includes Environmental Science at the high school level, Earth Science, Life Science, and Physical Science at the middle school level, and Health Science. I also have many years of experience providing one-on-one and small-group tutoring. I enjoy breaking down difficult concepts into simpler steps and adjusting my teaching style based on each student’s needs. I have experience supporting English learners, students with IEPs, and students with different learning styles and academic levels. My goal is to make learning less overwhelming and help students feel comfortable asking questions. I want my students to understand the material, build confidence, and develop skills they can use independently.
