Bio
I am a caring and dedicated teacher with a passion for helping students become confident, independent learners. I specialize in Latin instruction, from introductory grammar, vocabulary, and translation to advanced translation and IB Latin exam prep. focus on making Latin approachable and meaningful, and will work with you to utilize your preferred learning modalities for academic success. In addition to Latin, I have extensive experience in student support, working with students to build essential study skills and executive functioning, including time management, organization, reading comprehension, and test-taking strategies. Whether you are preparing for a rigorous Latin exam or you simply need help structuring your study habits, I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs. I also have experience teaching and tutoring English and Social Studies at the elementary, middle school and high school levels, and will be happy to help you with grammar, reading and the writing process.
Teacher Specialization
I hold a B.A. in Classics (magna cum laude) from Brown University, an M.A. in Education from the University of St. Joseph, and a Mass. Educator's License. I specialize in Latin instruction, from introductory grammar, vocabulary, and translation to advanced translation and IB Latin exam preparation. I have 35 years of teaching experience in both public and private schools, and at all grade levels from Kindergarten through 12th grade. In addition to Latin, I have also taught and tutored in the subjects of English, social studies, elementary Italian and study skills/executive functioning.
