Bio

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Though it sounds silly, this proverb mirrors my teaching philosophy in that the best way to complete large assignments is by breaking them into smaller, more manageable tasks. This will be our goal in tutoring sessions. Too often students fear writing essays, reading books, and delivering speeches because they see them as overwhelming assignments instead of a compilation of smaller items. I am happy to help you change your perspective and develop confidence as you create and complete a checklist for your work.

Teacher Specialization

With more than two decades of experience in secondary English education and administration, I enjoy working with young adults as they navigate necessary coursework to improve their reading, writing, and communication skills. Having taught English composition and public speaking at the college level, I can support middle and high school learners with a sense of how the short-term assignments can help build the foundations necessary for future success.
