Bio
Hello! I am a personable and engaging teacher who knows how to move students to their learning goals efficiently! I believe all students need to feel known, cared for and also have fun, in order to learn. I also believe that parents and students alike want to see fast progress. As a teacher and a parent, I understand what parents are looking for in a tutor. I have taught in classrooms in the U.S. (Virginia) and Canada (Quebec). I am currently homeschooling my own two children. I speak Arabic, French, and I am learning Spanish. I love working with kids and watching them feel a sense of pride when they discover that they have truly learned and grown! My goal is to see students love learning for the sake of learning. I encourage and lead students in celebrating their own learning, from time to time, in order to create a joy for feeling that pride that comes from personal achievement!
Teacher Specialization
I have taught English at the middle school level for 3 years in Virginia public schools. I have taught 1st and 4th grade general education also in Virginia public schools. I have taught ESL to grades 1-3 in public schools in Quebec (Canada). I have also taught adult group ESL online classes on TakeLessons.com. I currently homeschool my two children, one of whom is dyslexic. I also tutor early literacy in-person.
