Bio
Hello! I am Nicole, a lifelong learner, educator, and education advisor. The grateful mother of two amazing public school students (elementary and middle school) living in Portland, Oregon, I am always working to make our lives feel full of adventure, meaning, and care - goals I also bring into my teaching. Beyond academics, I focus on building confidence, organization, and independence. I’ve mentored both high school students and adult learners, and I believe every learner deserves a personalized path forward. Whether you need support with reading, writing, study skills, or college prep, I bring patience, expertise, and encouragement to make learning fun, manageable, meaningful, and supportive.
Teacher Specialization
I am an experienced teacher and college/career advisor with 15+ years supporting students in reaching their goals. I hold a Master’s in Education (Curriculum & Instruction) and a current teaching license in Oregon. I have taught middle/high school English Language Arts, middle school social studies, high school AVID, substituted across grade levels and subject areas, and served as a college and career counselor. I specialize in guiding first-generation students and families through college and career planning, making applications and financial aid less overwhelming and more empowering, and in teaching English language arts and social studies in a way that inspires a love of reading, writing, and inquiry in even the most reluctant learners.
