Bio
I believe that every student has a unique learning style and the potential to succeed when given the right tools and encouragement. My philosophy centers on creating a supportive, student-centered environment where curiosity is celebrated and mistakes are viewed as essential steps in the learning process. I strive to make complex concepts accessible and relevant, fostering a growth mindset that empowers students to take ownership of their education. My primary goal is to help students build confidence in their academic abilities while mastering the subject matter. I build strong relationships with my students by leading with empathy, patience and active listening. Due to my background on coaching and supporting, I focus on creating a classroom environment where everyone feels safe sharing ideas and where everyone feels respected while engaging in rigorous instruction.

My name is Dr. Tavares and I will be your tutor! I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from Florida International University, my M.S. in Educational Leadership from Barry University, my Ed.S. in Technology Management and Administration and my Ed.D in Instructional Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. I have taught Elementary, Mathematics and Technology at the middle and high school level, have been an administrator, been involved in consulting working with the educational publishing field, an Instructional Coach, a Secondary Math Specialist, an MTSS Specialist and an Assistant in Research. Please feel comfortable asking me anything, because I am here to support you and help you grow into an educational leader.
