Hello! I am Olivia de Mik and am a High School English Teacher in Virginia Beach! I firmly believe that all students can understand, grasp, and achieve all subjects; we may need to take a different approach to help get them there. My background with ESL students ignited my passion for differentiation and therefore helped me tailor lessons to each student's needs. I would be thrilled to work with you and your student to overcome the hurdles we may have, prepare for what's coming, and overall succeed in your subject areas of struggle.
Teacher Specialization
I currently work for one of STRIDE's K-12 public school programs, Virginia Virtual Academy, as a High School English teacher. I am licensed to teach English as Second Language (PreK-12) and English (6-12). This is my 7th year teaching, but I was also a tutor throughout High School and College covering subjects from all ELA, writing basics, ACT/SAT prep, and GED prep.
