Bio
Throughout my years of teaching I have learned to teach students with all sorts of needs, whether they are below grade level to above grade level. I became a teacher/tutor because I love to make a difference a students life, like my teachers have done for me. I believe students learn best when their tutor takes the time to evaluate the student and meet them where they are at in their learning. I set goals based on the students gaps and provide them with the tools they need to show growth. A goal of mine is to is to engage my students with their interests or hobbies, so they understand the content and bridge the gaps in their academics. As a certified teacher, I always like to build relationships with my students and their parents. This allows me to create a supportive environment for us to work together as a team.
Teacher Specialization
I have taught virtually and in person for 7 years, but I also have over a year of small groups/student teaching from my college courses. I graduated college with high honors and was in teaching clubs. I am legally certified to teach Early Childhood to 6th grade for all subjects, but I have been a sub for some middle school classes for 7th and 8th grade. Throughout my official teaching career I have taught 1st-5th grade all subjects, so I am able to help fill gaps of students that are below or above level. I have been a Team Lead for 5th grade, taught summer school to 4th and 5th grade students, and have taught before/after school tutoring to 3rd-5th grade students. I get to know who my students are and how they think, so I can come up with an interesting lesson to engage them while also reaching goals. I am GT and ESL certified, and I am able to teach students with learning disabilities, or challenge my above grade level students. I am so ready to get to know my future smart students
