Greetings! Hi! I am your tutor, Ms. Tillman. I’m absolutely honored to be working with you. I'm all about helping you not just do well in school but do well in life. Thus, I'm dedicated to helping you navigate your school work, while also giving you useful and even professional tips to help you in the real world. As a published poet and writer, an award-winning graphic designer and photographer, and a motivational speaker, I like to give my students as much insight into those fields and more, including how what we're doing today will help us in the future. Our time together will be enjoyable, comfortable, yet purposeful. It's so important to "seize the day," something I learned from having a disability. Nevertheless, I don't let it hinder me. In fact, I think it helps me to understand my students more.
Teacher Specialization
I’ve been teaching and tutoring for over 20 years, 5 of those with K12/Stride as a High School ELA Interventionist. I’ve also taught a little of everything and am certified in almost every subject—including mathematics. In college, I tutored College Algebra, Physics, and Statistics. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Texas with a degree in English, and I have Masters work from Texas Woman's University in secondary linguistic acquisition and teaching math/science.
