Hello! I am so excited to begin this learning journey together. I believe that every student has the right to learn in a warm, accepting environment that fosters creativity and individuality.I have been an educator for over 18 years and am passionate about helping every student meet no only their learning goals but enjoy the process. I am a mother of two, Sage and Keller, both off at Ohio University this year. I love to read all types of books from Percy Jackson to The Great Gatsby. It's important to meet to not only meet the unique needs of each of my students but find a way to connect to them and make tutoring a place they enjoy attending. A few other favorites: Indie Rock, kayaking, hiking, my two dogs and two cats, and my executive chef husband, Travis.
Teacher Specialization
I have been an educator for over 18 years and have been lucky enough to teach many different subjects to all different ages and abilities in person and virtually. I have a Masters of Education and I currently teach High School English 10 online but have taught English 9, 11, 12 and Language Arts 7 and 8. I also have experience as a Reading Specialist K-12. For several years I was a Home Instructor for students with varying special needs that could not attend school in person. I have also always tutored outside of school in person as well as online for all subjects and all grades. In the summers I work at a summer outdoor camp with kids age 7-12.
