Students learn best in learning environments that provide content in differentiated methods, whether that is videos, text, pictures, games. The key to providing meaningful feedback for students is that it needs to be provided timely and specific to the student's areas of success and areas of growth still needed. The goals of tutoring should be to help close academic gaps in student achievement, helping to garner higher levels of success in school. I pride myself on aiding students on strengthening not only their skillset but also their confidence in their abilities through a mutually respectful relationship as teacher and student. Hello and welcome! I would love to introduce myself as Ms. Ayer. It was the transformative experience of some amazing teachers that put me on this path to do the same for today's students. An interesting fact about myself would be I am a craft enthusiast. At any given point I have about two to three different crafts in my house going on.
Teacher Specialization
I graduated with bachelors in elementary education in 2018 with a concentration in science and am currently pursuing a masters in curriculum instruction and development that will have an endorsement in ESOL education that should be completed in 2027. I have six years' experience teaching, with five of those being completely online. Those five years of online teaching have been specialized in mathematics and science instruction. However, I am licensed to teach grades kindergarten through fifth grade. At my most recent teaching position, I have been the head of the 2nd grade mathematics department for the last two school years and was a finalist in the primary grades' teacher of the year nominations for the 2024-2025 school year.
