Bio

I am a passionate educator with over 16 years of classroom experience. I have strong expertise in the Science of Reading and structured literacy and am trained in the Orton-Gillingham methodology. I am currently pursuing LETRS training to continue strengthening my practice. I believe all students are capable of learning and use a multisensory approach to support meaningful, lasting progress—especially in reading, which is my greatest passion. I have experience working with students on the autism spectrum and volunteer with a nonprofit organization that promotes inclusion in the community. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, traveling, and going on adventures with my family.

Teacher Specialization

With 16 years of teaching experience across grades K–12, I bring a deep understanding of literacy development at all levels. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (K–6) and a Master of Arts in Reading Education (Pre-K–Adult), along with Reading Specialist Certification and a Master’s +30. I also have four years of experience teaching in virtual settings and currently work as an elementary Reading Interventionist at WVVA. I specialize in supporting students who struggle with reading, providing targeted, research-based instruction tailored to each learner’s needs.
