Bio
Hello and bienvenidos a mi teaching profile! I'm Juliana, a dedicated early elementary school teacher with years of experience in both the US and Spain. I have a passion for working with both younger students and English language learners. I received a Fulbright Teaching Fellowship in 2019, which sparked my interest in English language and literacy teaching. My teaching philosophy is that "nothing is learned without love"---which means that the bedrock of my job is making sure students feel safe, cared for, and capable. From this positive foundation, children learn to believe in their own learning capacity and approach challenges with confidence and resilience. I also firmly believe that learning (and teaching!) should be engaging, personalized, and joyful.
Teacher Specialization
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Child Psychology and a Master's in Bilingual and Multicultural Education. I have taught preschool, kindergarten, and second grade in the classroom for the last seven years. In an online capacity, I've tutored children ages five to twelve across all subjects, particularly in early literacy and English language learning.
