Bio
Hello, I am Mrs. Winters. I am very excited to be your tutor! I live in Ada, Oklahoma with my husband, three daughters, four dogs, and a cat. We are a family who loves animals and values education. I was raised by educators who instilled the love of learning and teaching in my heart. My teacher passion is reading. I strive to build strong and confident readers. I achieve this by striving to have a welcoming classroom that is safe and built on solid connections with my students. I create my lessons around my student's needs that encourages open dialogue in regard to each individual's strengths and weaknesses to achieve academic success.
Teacher Specialization
I have 20 years of teaching experience. I taught in person in Ada and Stonewall for a total of 10 years. I then homeschooled my youngest daughters before I began teaching virtual for K12. While teaching for K12, I have been a reading interventionist, a homeroom 5th grade teacher, and currently serve as a dyslexia teacher. I am certified in Texas and Oklahoma. My certifications are Special Education (Mild and Moderate), Early Childhood-8th grade, and a Certified Academic Language Practitioner.
