Bio
I love helping learners unlock mastery of challenging material or bringing depth to topics they may need fresh perspectives. I love science, and some of my funniest times have been shooting rockets, figuring out how fast they launched and where they might land. I love seeing students have AH-HA. I have trained in Language Arts and have finished my state-required LETRS. In addition to teaching, I also love learning through study and life experience. In my experience, the more vested students are in learning, the better they become. Learning should not only be for the betterment of ourselves but should also motivate the learner to want to know more. My teaching philosophy is that all students can learn. It is finding what their learning style is and how they learn best. Learning should not be boring and sitting at a desk or table but should also be based on interest. I enjoy many things in my spare time, and one of my favorites is spending time with family.
Teacher Specialization
I have taught numerous subjects and am willing to branch out to include some middle school subjects. I have taught in several states, the most recent being Utah. I have a Master's in teaching from Chaminade University of Honolulu and worked on my Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I look forward to helping students work toward mastery in the subject they need additional help with. I have been teaching students and even adults at times for 23 years.
