Bio

Children thrive when given clear boundaries and consistent love. I believe in holding students accountable, providing structure, and consistency, but at the same time, a caring and nurturing environment so that they can become the best versions of themselves. I love helping students find success, whatever that looks like for them. In my kindergarten class, I've had the joy of teaching hundreds of children how to read, and I've also worked with middle and high schoolers on building their social and emotional awareness. I'm a big fan of math, but my real passion is connecting with students to focus on exactly what they need to thrive.

Teacher Specialization

I have taught for more than 18 years and worked with all age groups from kindergarten to seniors allowing me to hone my skills. I have taught pre-algebra, algebra, algebra 2, geometry, physical science, kindergarten, special education (including a math and English class), a social emotional class for middle school (using curriculum I co-created), along with working closely with the counseling department by creating and working in a social emotional room. I have an AA & BA in Liberal Arts, a masters in education, and I'm credentialed in two states. I mention the education and the classes as part of my bio, but that is not my where I get my passion and excitement from. My real accomplishment and happiness comes from working with and helping students. I specialize in early reading development and building social emotional skills in all students.
