Bio
My name is Suzette Martinez, and I am a proud single mom of an amazing 18-year-old son. In my free time, I love cheering him on at baseball games, spending time on the water boating, or relaxing at the beach. Being outdoors with family and friends is one of my greatest joys. I am fluent in both English and Spanish, which has been a tremendous advantage when working with ESOL students. Tutoring has always been one of my passions. In fact, before becoming a mom, I ran my own tutoring company called Tutor N Town. My goal is to help students grow, gain confidence, and succeed academically by providing personalized support and encouragement. I believe that students learn best when instruction is engaging, personalized, and responsive to their individual strengths and needs, with opportunities for active participation and critical thinking. Every student has a unique style of learning, and my role as a tutor is to meet them where they are.
Teacher Specialization
As an elementary teacher for over 25 years, I pride myself in making sure that every one of my students receives the best education I can give them. I hold a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in elementary education. I have spent the last 15 years educating elementary students virtually at K12 and other virtual schools in Florida. Prior to that I taught in the brick-and-mortar setting. My experience in the classroom has been mostly at the elementary level. However, when I owned my tutoring company I helped students from K-12. Building relationships with my students is what I love most about teaching. Teaching virtually and tutoring allows for more focused one-on-one time with each student. With smaller groups and fewer distractions, I can truly get to know my students, understand their unique learning styles, and provide the individualized support they need to succeed. I strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, encouraged, and confident.
