Bio
I’ve had the joy of working with a wide range of learners. I'm one of those teachers who I can say "I've taught it all", because I regularly bridge other subjects together to help studens understand the interconnectedness of what they are learning and how they can use in further education and later in life. I specialize in English/Language Arts, Writing, and Social Studies for middle school and high school students. I strive to bring each lesson to life with energy, creativity, and a positive, inclusive vibe. My goal is to make learning both meaningful and fun, helping every student find their voice and confidence in the classroom.
Teacher Specialization
I have 18 years of experience, originally in brick and mortar classrooms and then the last five years in the virtual setting. My initial certificate was in Language Arts focusing on reading comprension, literary analysis, writing, etc., and I then earned another in Social Studies to broaden my range. Along the way, I have also earned certifications in Reading, ESOL, and Gifted Studies. I specialize in delivering differentiated instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student population, including struggling students to gifted learners. My approach is grounded in the belief that all students can thrive when instruction is accessible, engaging, and responsive to individual needs. I incorporate strategies such as graphic organizers and scaffolded supports, as well as visual aids and assistive technology to help students find success. Across all groups, I cultivate a positive, student-centered classroom that emphasizes growth mindset, collaboration, and a love of learning.
