Bio

I believe there are a variety of learning methods, but the common factor among them is that practice and repetition make perfect. My goal for my tutoring students is that they walk away feeling confident in their ability to solve problems. I'm not here to give a man a fish, I'm here to teach a man to fish. I think that students have an easier time learning when they like their teachers. I create a safe and positive environment, where it is okay to make mistakes because that is a part of learning. I am Trey Finch, and I teach English/Language Arts. My favorite thing to do is read, especially young adult dystopian novels. Some of my favorites are The Hunger Games, Divergent, and The Testing. I also really enjoy fishing. Listening to an audiobook while pulling in Bluegill is about the most fun I can have. I became a tutor because some kids may need a little extra help, and some may just need the material explained in a different way.

Teacher Specialization

I have been teaching for a few years now. I have taught virtually, in the inner city, and in rural schools. I teach reading comprehension, creative writing, informative writing, grammar, Social Studies, and some early Math.
