Bio
My tutoring goals are to provide individualized instruction and targeted support to help students master the concepts and skills they are learning. I strive to build students’ confidence in their abilities while encouraging them to take an active role in their learning. To foster strong relationships, I check in frequently to assess students’ understanding and progress, and I make an effort to learn about their interests and individual learning styles. I believe that every student brings unique strengths to the classroom and that all students can be successful learners.
Teacher Specialization
My specialty is teaching reading - decoding and comprehension. I have had SPIRE training and Orton-Gillingham training. I had taught virtually for almost 2 years. I had taught literacy, math, and ESOL to grades K-2. My degrees are B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Dramatic Arts, M.S.ED. in Childhood Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. In addition, I have an Advanced Certificate in TESOL K-12.
