Bio
Hello! As an educator, I believe that a great learning experience is more than just memorizing facts—it's about building confidence and fostering a genuine love for learning. My goal is to empower students by helping them see their own potential and the joy that comes with mastering a new skill. I'm a passionate and highly adaptable tutor who focuses on differentiation, which means I tailor my approach to each individual. I start every new relationship by understanding a student's unique learning needs, strengths, and goals. From there, I create a customized curriculum that meets all educational standards while remaining engaging and relevant. I pride myself on building a strong rapport with my students, creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My lessons are designed to be dynamic and interactive, ensuring that students stay motivated and on track toward their academic goals.
Teacher Specialization
I have 11 years of experience in education, teaching in the United States, South Korea, and Japan. I have taught a wide range of subjects to students from kindergarten to 12th grade, including English, ESOL, Spanish, Japanese, computer science, programming, and East Asian history (specifically Chinese, Japanese, and Korean history). I hold a Master's degree in Management of Information Systems with a specialization in education. I am certified in TESOL and TEFL, with endorsements for K-12 ESOL and Spanish as well as 6-12 English. I have also worked as a literacy coach and have experience with curriculum design. In my free time, I enjoy translating from English to Japanese.
