Bio
Hello! My name is Leah Burton and I am thrilled to be a part of the Stride community. I have always loved working with children and knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher. I am so excited to partner with you in helping your child/student achieve their educational goals. As a teacher, I always strive to build relationships with my students to help children feel safe, loved, and excited about learning. I believe the elementary years are extremely important for developing a love of lifelong learning in children and all students should be given multiple opportunities and pathways in which to grown and learn. I have taught preschool through 5th grade and have an immense passion for reading instruction. Reading is such an essential activity and I truly enjoy helping children unlock this skill and find great joy in reading books.
Teacher Specialization
I have a Master's degree in education, specializing in reading instruction, along with an endorsement in ESL. Over my career, I have had experience teaching pre-k through 5th grade. I have also spent a lot of time volunteering at my own children's schools and tutoring. I am very excited to be involved with Stride tutoring and work with students from all over the country.
