Bio
Hi! My name is Ava, and I'm so glad you're here! I spend my time cooking and playing with my daughter! The way I enjoy teaching is by connecting with my students first and foremost. I believe that to be a good teacher, you must know your students and their interests. This way, you can make real-world connections that they can understand. One of my favorite quotes is "You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great" -Zig Ziglar. I approach education with the idea that it's never too late to start learning, and anyone can learn!
Teacher Specialization
Whilst in college in 2023, I did my student teaching in a Pre-K, first grade, and fourth grade. When I graduated, I took over a second-grade classroom for a teacher who was retiring. I loved every second of it and had the most wonderful time! I worked with students who were on a kindergarten level of reading and math, and worked with them to get them up to a second-grade level. I also tutored after school with a variety of second graders from other classes. I now hold a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
