Bio
Hi! I’m Sharla Wells, an enthusiastic educator from beautiful Kentucky who loves traveling and plane spotting with my family. With over seven years of teaching experience in public, private, and online classrooms, I’ve had the privilege of helping students from kindergarten through 12th grade discover their strengths and build confidence. I believe learning should be engaging, personal, and fun. Whether I’m working with an elementary student on reading skills, guiding a middle schooler through science experiments, or coaching a high schooler on essay writing, I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs, interests, and learning style. My background in graphic design and editing allows me to create creative, high-interest activities that make even challenging subjects feel approachable and exciting.
Teacher Specialization
I hold a B.A. in English and Journalism, a Master’s in English (grades 5–9), and a Master’s as a Literacy Specialist (P–12). I’m also currently pursuing my PhD in English. Over the years, I’ve worked extensively with English Learners (EL) and students with IEPs, focusing on meeting each child where they are and helping them succeed. When you book a session with me, your child gets more than a tutor — they get a cheerleader, a guide, and a partner in learning. My goal is to make every student feel capable, valued, and motivated to keep growing.
