Bio
I am a certified teacher with over 15 years of experience. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting a wide range of learners and helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. My educational philosophy is grounded in John Dewey’s belief that students learn best by doing. I am a strong advocate for hands-on, experiential learning, especially in the early grades, because it encourages curiosity, builds confidence, and helps students make meaningful connections to the world around them. As a tutor, my goal is to help students bridge the gaps in their education by meeting them where they are and providing the targeted support they need to move forward. I strive to create lessons that are engaging, purposeful, and tailored to each child’s individual learning style. Building strong relationships with students is at the heart of my work. I have deep compassion for the children I teach and am committed to creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment.
Teacher Specialization
I am an experienced educator with over 15 years of teaching students across a wide range of grade levels, from PreK through 1st grade, as well as Middle and High School Social Studies. I have extensive experience delivering instruction both in traditional classrooms and virtually, having spent over six years teaching online through COVID-19, online schools, and other educational institutions. My academic background includes a BA in Social Studies Education, an MAT in K-12 Teaching, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, providing me with a strong foundation in both content knowledge and instructional design. I specialize in developing engaging, student-centered learning experiences that bridge academic gaps, foster critical thinking, and meet the diverse needs of learners across multiple settings and grade levels.
