Bio

My name is Miss Crystal. I am passionate about education as I believe it is a form of self-empowerment, which is critical for our youth today. I have seven children and three grandchildren. I am a big kid-at-heart, and I like to be goofy and have fun. I like to get to know the students, so I can better appeal to their likes and interests during teaching. Students learn more when they are having fun and feel a connection with their teacher. I am committed to helping students achieve academic success, so they can go on to find success in other areas of their lives.

Teacher Specialization

I work with K-8 students from varying backgrounds and abilities. I have a standard elementary teacher certification for K-8, all subjects. I have taught virtually for three years. I have taught 2nd and 6th grade and homeschooled some of my children throughout grades K-12. As a teacher and a mom, I understand the gaps in teaching and student learning. Teachers primarily have time in their day to deliver the curriculum. It takes repeated practice to master skills, but these days, the lessons seem to keep moving forward with less much-needed repetition. I understand that learning can be frustrating to children, and I want to help your child build their academic and self-confidence! I am currently finishing a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling, emphasizing youth and adolescent disorders.
