Bio

I’m a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma and currently a 5th grade teacher at Missouri Virtual Academy, where I was honored as the Elementary Teacher of the Year for the 2024–2025 school year. My teaching is rooted in neural-education, blending brain-based strategies with a deep belief that learning should be fun, meaningful, and student-led. As a military spouse, I’ve had the unique opportunity to teach in classrooms across the U.S., gaining a rich perspective on diverse learners and communities. I’m also a mom to amazing boys with learning differences, which fuels my passion for creating inclusive, flexible learning environments where every child can thrive—whether they need support or are ready to soar. I believe in helping students fall in love with learning by giving them voice, choice, and the confidence to lead their own educational journeys. And yes—there’s always a cold Dr Pepper nearby to keep the energy flowing!

Teacher Specialization

I specialize in neural education, as I am a certified neural educator. I have my associate's degree from the University of Alaska, my bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma, and am almost complete with my master's in teaching and learning from Colorado State University. Along with being certified in neural education, I also hold a certification in collaborative problem solving, many Autism and ADHD specialization trainings regarding education, and a reading endorsement in Florida. I have taught for 8 years in public education, in every elementary level and subject. Many of my years in teaching have taken place from third to fifth grade. Every grade brings something special to the table!
