Bio
Hi! My name is Caren Kennedy, and I live in beautiful Hunterdon County, NJ. I am SO excited to work with you as I help you successfully navigate the world of math! And we'll even have fun in the process! I absolutely LOVE math, and it's extremely rewarding helping children really understand and enjoy it, too. I retired from teaching in 2025, but still enjoy tutoring. During the pandemic, I realized that I was really good at teaching math online, which is why I have decided to continue my pursuit of helping struggling students with the K12 Tutoring program.
Teacher Specialization
I've been a middle school teacher for 31 years, and I started tutoring math 4 years before that! I specialize in teaching middle school students of all ages and abilities. I've taught everything from resource room math, basic skills math, regular education math, honors-level math, as well as financial literacy. I've always had a knack for getting through to struggling students. I am really good at teaching math to students online, which became apparent during the pandemic. Although my absolute love is math, I actually have a secondary education English degree from Rutgers University in NJ. While completing my English degree, I took many math courses, which made me highly qualified to also teach Math in the elementary through middle grades. I also received my Master in the Art of Teaching Middle School Math from Marygrove College, which was completed completely online, so I have a lot of experience with online learning well before the pandemic hit.
