Bio

Hello my name is Mrs. French and I have 26 years experience in teaching. I am now retired, but still want to help children achieve their goals. Whether it be subjects that they are having difficulty with or want to go deeper into learning more information about that subject. I believe that all children can learn. If I can implement strategies to increase their engagement while making it fun and engaging this will help students in learning the material. I like to get to know my students by interacting with them before each session. Allowing them to talk about what they did over the weekend or anything else they want to share lets them know that I am interested in them and what they do. This will help build an authentic relationship which will make them be more successful in the learning process. My teaching style is I want to accomplish the goals we have set while having fun with engaging lessons that excite the students to become better learners.

Teacher Specialization

I graduated from the University of Houston and have 26 years teaching experience. I started teaching in Kindergarten and have taught every grade except third with all subjects being taught. In Fifth grade I taught Language Arts with an emphasis in writing. I have also taught fifth grade Science and Social Studies. I have tutored for the last 10 years online and in person. I am dyslexia certified and have taught many dyslexia students in my classroom and I have my GT and ESL certification.
