Bio
My philosophy of education is based on providing feedback in a small group and individual settings. I make sure to model what is being taught first before allowing the students to practice. My key belief as a tutor is to build a students confidence in their abilities so that they can grow 1% everyday. I believe that every student has the ability to grow 1% better every day. I believe that students learn the best from a teacher that builds rapport with them. Students inside my classroom feel safe and in return learning takes place. I decided to be a tutor because I wanted to make an even greater impact on students lives outside of my classroom walls.
Teacher Specialization
I have been a classroom teacher for the past 12 years. I have taught English/Language Arts at the 4th grade level for two years, 5th grade 6 years, and 6th grade 4 years. My students have consistently scored the highest on the Ohio state test for Reading the past 4-5 years. I am proud of this accomplishment because I teach in an inner city school. I specialize in motivating students of all socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds to reach their full potential. I am certified to teach grades 4-9 English Language Arts/Reading.
