Bio

My name is Katie Davis! I can usually be found with tea in one hand and a book in the other. I have four years of professional teaching and tutoring experience. Reading is my passion, and I love sharing that excitement with my students. I know how much of a difference my tutor made for me. After many tearful nights at the dinner table spent deciphering fractions and long division, my parents decided to enlist the assistance of a tutor. She worked tirelessly with me to help me master math, and it made a massive difference in my life. I provide constructive criticism in a gentle way, but I focus more on building students up and helping them to gain confidence in their own abilities. I strive to ensure that children gain confidence, master skills, and learn critical thinking skills. I have high expectations for my students, and I will treat them with respect, empathy, and kindness. I look forward to getting to know each student and promoting a productive, optimistic atmosphere.

I have two years of experience teaching in the classroom, and an additional two years of experience tutoring and writing for companies in the education industry. I taught elementary special education, including content mastery, resource, life skills, and all core subjects. I also taught high school English.
