Bio
My name is Kelly Magruder and I have three young children of my own. My oldest son faces some learning disabilities and inspired me to help other young learners who may need some extra support. The most exciting moment is when a child who has struggled with reading or a math concept suddenly figures it out and learning clicks. They are proud of themself and motivated to keep practicing!
Teacher Specialization
My teaching degree is in Pre-K- 6 elementary education. I have ten years teaching experience at the kindergarten, first grade, and second grade level and taught all subjects. I enjoy small group instruction because I am able to focus on a group of students all at a similar level and gear instruction to them. I taught during the covid pandemic and had to switch instruction to an online environment for two school years. This time allowed me to learn how to work with students through an online platform.
