Bio
I am so excited for the opportunity to help you along your educational journey! My philosophy is to encourage youth to maximize their academic potential by combining academics with real-world scenarios to give students relatable and enjoyable experiences and make learning come alive. I love building connections by getting to know the background of each of my students, discovering what their personal goals are, and providing consistent feedback along the way so that we can monitor growth together. I received my Bachelor's degree at Jackson State University and have been teaching ever since with the hopes of instilling a strong foundation in all my students that inspires growth and development in all areas of life. I look forward to the work we will do together!
Teacher Specialization
My license is in Elementary Education EC-6th grade with endorsements in the Science of Teaching Reading (STR) and ESL. I currently hold 12 credits in my master's program for Special Education. With 7 years now under my belt, I have had the joy of teaching PreK, Kindergarten, and 2nd grade in a general ed. classroom setting. I have been an online tutor for the last 5 years, servicing students from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I have taught both Kindergarten and 2nd grade online as a classroom teacher for one year each.
