Bio
My name is Mrs. Nirtaut, and I am so excited to work with your student! I believe students learn best in environments that are thoughtfully structured to meet their individual needs. I use a balance of formative and summative assessments, incorporating play-based, interactive, and performance-based methods alongside traditional approaches to ensure students are evaluated in meaningful and familiar ways. I work with individual students and small groups to build foundational skills, close learning gaps, and challenge advanced learners through targeted, supportive instruction. Building trust and strong relationships is central to my work, as students learn best when they feel known, supported, and valued. Outside of teaching, I live in the Midwest near the Great Lakes with my family and enjoy gardening, caring for our animals, camping, hiking, and continuing to grow professionally in education.
Teacher Specialization
Mrs. Nirtaut has experience with teaching in the in-person classroom, hybrid, and has also previously worked for K12 Stride as a virtual elementary teacher for over 8 years. She has taught her own general education classrooms from 2nd grade through 5th grade. She has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Indiana State University and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Purdue University. She has over 60 hours of specialized training with the Science of Reading through the Institute for Multi-Sensory Learning in Orton-Gillingham Literacy and Morphology.
