Bio
I believe that every student possesses the potential to succeed through supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environments. I am committed to inspiring curiosity, fostering critical thinking, and nurturing a love of learning. I meet students where they are to create modified and differentiated lessons. I believe that building strong, collaborative relationships with students and families is essential for academic and personal growth where students feel valued, empowered, and motivated to achieve. Communication and detailed, timely feedback is essential for the success of any student. I became a tutor because I enjoy the small group and/or individual learning environment. I love to travel, cook, play Pickleball or paddle board in the ocean. Fun fact about me: Through People to People International, I was a Teacher Leader for 10 years I traveled with hundreds of students to dozens of different countries! Favorite educational quote: "Travel is the best form of Education."
Teacher Specialization
My specialization in teaching remains within the K-7 grade levels in all core subject areas. I hold a Multiple Subject CLAD Teaching Credential, along with a Master's Degree in Math, Science, and Technology Education from the University of San Diego. I have extensive experience with ADD/ADHD, EL's, Autistic, and Gifted & Talented learners. I have taught in a self-contained classroom, participated in virtual online instruction for a class of 30 (2 consecutive years), tutored individual and small groups online, and taught in-person, and in one-on-one, private tutoring settings.
