Bio

Hi! My name is Mrs. McLaughlin and I love helping students grow into their best selves. I enjoy creating a classroom where every child feels encouraged and supported. I like to bring humor and joy into learning, and I believe that strong teacher-student relationships are the key to motivation and success.

Teacher Specialization

Teaching Specialization This is my fourth year teaching first grade. Prior to that, I taught English Learners (EL) for three years at my current school after earning my Master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). During the COVID-19 pandemic, I continued supporting students through online instruction, working with grades 2 through 8. During that period, I also completed the MTTC exam and enrolled in the Teachers of Tomorrow Michigan certification program, where I successfully earned my Interim Teaching Certificate. I am currently completing my final course to qualify for a Permanent Teaching Certificate. My diverse experience with multilingual learners and multiple grade levels has strengthened my passion for creating inclusive, language-rich learning environments where every student can thrive.
